| Legislative Update Speakers: Eric Dell, Chief of Staff for Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC); Steve Rossetti, Director, ALA Government Affairs April 2012 Mr. Dell has been instrumental in providing critical advice and counsel to Congressman Joe Wilson who serves as Chairman of the Military Personnel Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. In this webcast, he provides an update on the key issue facing Congress. Mr. Rossetti follows Mr. Dell with an overview of DoD’s new strategy for the future of force structure and deployment. Based on a declining budget and a shift in global focus, force levels are programmed to drop and there are talks of new rounds of BRAC. The pressure on the budget is projected to last for the next decade and military resale will continually be challenged. Mr. Rossett discusses these developments and the ALA’s efforts to enhance and protect these important and valued programs. |
